The Antivia team draws upon a wealth of experience in the business intelligence industry and beyond.
Mark Sands
Mark comes to Antivia with twenty years of business intelligence industry experience having held sales, consulting and general management positions in a variety of software and services organisations.
Mark cut his technical teeth in the days of decision support and executive information systems, long before Howard Dresner first coined the term ‘Business Intelligence’. The early part of his career was spent getting to grips with real world implementation challenges whilst working in the consulting organisation of EIS pioneer Pilot Software. Having made the move into sales in the early 1990’s, Mark went on to enjoy successful spells with Sybase, Information Advantage, ETI and Acta Technology. More recently, Mark relocated his skills Down Under to establish and head up BI solutions specialist Edgewing and, following their acquisition by Business Objects, was responsible for the latter’s reorganisation and launch of their new professional services organisation in Australia and New Zealand.
Mark holds an Honours degree in Computing in Business from the University of Huddersfield.
Mark Hudson
Mark brings to Antivia a wealth of relevant experience gained from a career spanning both sides of the customer-vendor divide.
Mark has seen at first hand the challenges associated with the timely adoption of new techniques to address business problems and deliver significant value in the real world at organisations like St George Bank, Adidas, Abbey National, Orange and BSkyB. This experience was the foundation for Mark’s subsequent success as an entrepreneur in the business intelligence industry, a career in which Mark also holds the rare distinction of having held senior roles as a customer, business partner and employee of Business Objects.
Mark was the driving force behind the rise of Blue Edge Software and, having overseen its successful integration into Business Objects following their acquisition, was instrumental in the definition of the product roadmap for information delivery. Mark re-located to Australia where, as a member of Business Objects ANZ management team was responsible for an initiative designed to foster effective, cross department support for Business Objects most strategic customers in Australia and New Zealand. Mark went on to be a key player in Edgewing’s successes in the region with the strategy and solutions to which he was a major contributor being a significant factor in Business Objects decision to acquire Edgewing in 2006.
Mark holds an Honours degree in Computing from Leeds Metropolitan University.
