DecisionPoint allows you to create consumer-like interfaces that present your business data in a way that fits how your users work. This makes dashboards and apps so intuitive, your business users can pick them up and use them, without training. Answer multiple business questions

Custom workflows and light-touch ad-hoc analysis enables your business users — sales people, store managers, warehouse managers, team leaders, executives — to answer multiple questions from one dashboard. This saves time and money as your business users no longer need to go back to the dashboard designer every time they have a follow-up question.

Publish dashboards securely to the DecisionPoint Server

When you've finished your dashboard and are ready to share, upload your dashboard to the DecisionPoint Server and choose the folder where you want to save your dashboard. Only users with access rights to this folder will be able to view the dashboard, enabling you to securely control who sees which information.

View information on mobile devices and desktop

DecisionPoint allows your business users to view the same dashboards on different tablet devices and desktops whilst adapting to the look and feel and gestures of the device, be it an iPad, Android tablet or desktop browser. This ensures business users can access their dashboards wherever and whenever they need to, with no training require.

Embed dashboards in websites and portals

You can embed your dashboards and apps in websites and web portals. You can even pass parameters to your dashboard to manage single-sign on (SSO) or to retain context, e.g. passing a customer number from the web portal into DecisionPoint to set a data filter.

View dashboards offline

Patchy network connectivity means that when business users are on the road they often struggle to access their corporate information when they need it most. However, DecisionPoint provides full offline access to information with no loss of functionality. This means all user interactions, including drill, pivot, sort and slice-and-dice, are available offline — no need for business users to second guess the information they will need when they're on the road by bookmarking it in advance. To save time for remote workers, multiple dashboards and apps can be synched with one click so they're ready to use when users are out and about, leaving them free to make informed decisions wherever they are.

Most business intelligence products are built for the web, so in the mobile world they are hampered by the need to make constant round trips to the server after every user interaction. However, DecisionPoint is built for mobile and by pushing as much data storage and processing as possible down to the client device, it minimizes round-trips to the server ensuring fast response times on mobile devices. Dashboards can even be set to open with offline data by default, so a business user will never be caught waiting for their dashboard to load in the wild over a creaking mobile network connection. For larger on premise deployments, to reduce administration effort and to keep cost of ownership low, DecisionPoint can delegate authentication to your existing security systems, including LDAP, Active Directory and even SAP® BusinessObjects.

For on premise deployments, DecisionPoint supports life-cycle management which enables you to promote your dashboards and apps from development to test and then to the production allowing you to implement a proper quality assurance process before your dashboards are published to your business users.
