Apply alerts to keep track of performance
To keep track of performance, for example to ensure that key performance indicators are on target, DecisionPoint™ lets you implement color-coded alerts to grids, graphs and maps. Specify when an alert should be triggered using the same point—and—click expressions you use to set up custom columns. Alerts are "aggregate aware" too, so they are applied correctly, whatever level your data is summarized at.
Provide drill–down out of the box
Business users will want to drill into their data when they find anomalies. With DecisionPoint™ this interactivity comes built-in — no need for coding. In fact, there's no need to do anything. As your users interact with their data by tapping on a chart or table to drill, all of their components automatically remain in sync which means your dashboards and apps behave exactly as your users think, so they don't need training to use them!
Filter data on the fly
DecisionPoint™ provides a rich variety of controls to allow your users to filter the data in their dashboard dynamically. These include filter, drill and tab bars, list boxes, radio buttons and tree controls and all are flexible and easy to apply. Want a list box that filters by year? Simply drag and drop a list box onto the dashboard canvas then point–and–click to select the year object. When a user picks a year from the list box, all their components will filter automatically. And it gets better. DecisionPoint™ gives you total control over your filters so you can filter a single component or a group of components as well as the whole dashboard, giving you the freedom to view your data exactly how you want to see it.
Answer follow-up questions by adding custom workflows
What use is a dashboard that only answers one question? A good interactive dashboard or performance application provides multiple views of data and implements custom workflows to make it easy and intuitive for end-users to get answers to their follow-up questions, as well as their immediate ones. This is the point where many BI tools either fall down or require you to resort to scripting or coding. For example to allow a line manager to check a box to approve a list of their team's expenses or to allow a program manager to input several variables as part of a financial planning exercise and then save these scenarios. On such occasions, DecisionPoint™ allows you to write-back to your database.
